Training - Blast Master® International
MJS Mining Services has also established Blastmaster® International to provide blasting training for all levels of competency from basic explosives awareness through to approved shotfiring and competency based training to advanced blast training for management and senior engineering/shotfiring personnel .Blastmaster® also incorporates an experienced RTO (BMI provider #31459) to allow MJS to provide the complete blast training package for all clients in the mining, construction and extractive industries.
Michael has developed, implemented and facilitated more than 120 explosives and blasting training courses over the past 20 years.
Michael is a qualified trainer and assessor (Certificate 1V in Training and Assessment)
Highlights include:
Facilitation of approved shotfirer courses in all states and territories in Australia.
Developed and facilitated UNSW Key Centre for Mines postgraduate 5 day training course in Safe Drill and Blasting Management (1999 - 2003)
Develop and implement/facilitate recognized/approved shotfirers course for High Temperature blasting at BHP Billiton Olympic Dam smelter works.
Authorised trainer for open cut and underground shotfiring courses for Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia.
Development of explosives and blasting Training programs for Thiess Contractors.
Conducted training and trials of first bulk emulsion explosives in underground development mining at BHP Cadjebut mine in Western Australia
Development and implementation of competency based training packages for major customers throughout Australia and Asia Pacific.
